Pre-Homework 

These materials and resources will help expand your understanding of Shakespeare's sonnets.They will be used for discussion during the workshop.

1. Complete pre-participation survey. ( This will be completed at the conference) 


2. Read two texts provided below about what is known about the context and authorship of Shakespeare's sonnets. Add comments to the Lucid Spark post-it board below


3. Read about the Learning for Justice standards from SPLC grades 9-12 that pertain to the grades you teach. https://www.learningforjustice.org/frameworks/social-justice-standards. 


4. Find a Shakespeare-based (sonnets or plays) lesson plan from previous years of teaching that has been successful with 

students. Bring them with you. 


5. Write a reflective piece of 350-500 words that discusses first impressions of opportunity and challenges perceived for teaching Shakespeare and Social Justice. Upload your writing to the google classroom link below. Be prepared to share these writings in an informal setting with participants and leaders on the first day of the workshop.







This pre-homework is essential for attaining eligibility  for salary point credits for LAUSD teachers.
